Easter Celebrations

We had a fun Easter weekend. Joseph had been anticipating Easter all month. Especially after Grandma called and invited us over for Grandpa's annual Easter Egg Hunt. We started the weekend with a Church activity where Joseph & Sean both enjoyed themselves. Later in the afternoon, Uncle David came up along with Aunt Nicole. Also, Grandma and Grandpa came down. After a pre-season BBQ that Obed cooked up, we all enjoyed decorating the traditional Bunny Cake (thanks to Obed's contributions of traditions), then dyed some Easter Eggs. Everyone was a big help to us all as we celebrated.

On Sunday, Joseph and Sean were very excited to wear their new Easter clothes and were sad when we couldn't wear them to Grandma and Grandpa's. Nonetheless, they really enjoyed Grandpa's Egg Hunt and actually ate dinner (thanks to Mom's constant reminder that no candy until after they eat a big dinner!). We hope you all had a good Easter. What a great time of year with all the new life blooming (even with the occasional relaspe into winter) and the reminder of our Savior's gift to us. We've enjoyed teaching Joseph and Sean all about Easter and it is a great blessing to see that they actually understand the scripture story! HAPPY EASTER!

Early March Happenings

We were even lucky enough to pull out the sidewalk chalk for the first time this year. Texas may just received their snow, but we are almost done with ours (hopefully!).

A Little About Us

Okay, so I've completed my homework. (even though I still owe some pictures to the page) Since I'm still new to the blogging world, I'm not sure how this will look on my page, so please don't judge a book by it's cover! :)

What is his name? Obed Starbuck
How long have you been married? 6 Years
How long did you date? Our first date was in May and we were engaged in August, got married in October. So 5 months. Even though we were on the East coast, we kept up the "Mormon Dating/Marriage Standard"
How old is he? 28
Who eats more? Obed; but I try to keep up, especially since I only have 8 more weeks to uses the pregnancy excuse.
Who said, "I love you" first? He did.
Who is taller? Obed
Who can sing better? Well, neither of us sing. Obed will flatter me by saying that I have a nice voice (very nice of him).
Who is smarter? Obed!
Who does the laundry? Me--sometimes I have to be reminded, though.
Who pays the bills? I write the checks, but Obed keeps track of all finances.
Who sleeps on the right side? Obed
Who mows the lawn? Obed--he's still trying to get used to the idea that we are supposed to be "responsible home owners".
Who cooks dinner? I do most of the time but Obed will cook one of his many feasts.
Who does the dishes? It's an equal share, but I usually get to them first.
Who drives? Obed--he does not like to be a passenger.
Who is more stubborn? We are still trying to solve that issue. :)
Who kissed who first? Obed kissed me first (does the cheek count?) After he kissed me, I knew he was serious about our relationship because he told me from the beginning that he only wanted to kiss his bride.
Who asked who out first? Obed asked me out after months of trying to figure out my name and where I lived.
Who proposed? Obed proposed to me
Who is more sensitive? Sensitive how? I get more moody about things (typical girl, right?) But Obed definately has his sensitive side.
Who has more siblings? I do--3 brothers and 2 sisters. Obed has 3 brothers and 1 sister
Who wears the pants? Depends on how important an issue is to either of us. Obed does a great job a presiding over our family and is always willing to accept my nagging.

Obed certainly puts up with a lot of my quirks (even more during pregnancy). He is a great husband and wonderful father. He is always looking out for our well-being.

Things we like to do

Some of the things we like to do are make tents while mom cleans the kitchen floor. (Shhh! We're trying to sleep!) We also love to show off and look cool. Who says we're little kids? Who doesn't love being pampered by their cousins?
